United Kingdom

Walking through the United Kingdom in World Showcase, is like walking through time.  The architecture of the buildings in the area date back to the 1500’s and progress up through the 1800’s as you progress through the rural area.  While there are no rides here, there are plenty of things to see and shops to browse along with a full service pub for you to enjoy some good ole English food!

The British Invasion – As you might have guessed with this being the United Kingdom, this is a Beatles cover band that does material from other British groups as well.  Always putting on a lively show, groups often form early to get a seat to watch, and kids love to dance to the music.  They are quite good and can be found down the cobblestone ally off the main path, preforming multiple times daily.  Check your guide map for exact times!

The World Showcase Players – This comedic troupe puts on one of the best shows in Epcot.  Performing King Arthur and the Holy Grail, they bring in 3 guest stars for the show right out of the audience, and get the rest of the people involved with audience participation and really bad puns (you’ve been warned!).  This is a great show for the entire family and shows are always crowded and full of laughs.  Preforming daily, check the guide map for exact times.

Character Meet and Greet – You can find Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Pooh in the United Kingdom signing autographs and posing for pictures daily.

Crown and Crest – Here you can look up your family crest and have it created and framed for your family to take home on a plaque, ring or framed.  Also found here are beer steins and Beatles items.

Magic of Wales – A small store selling clothing items such as scarves and other various souvenirs.

Queen’s Table – A shop that has various perfumes.

Sportsman’s Shoppe –  Here you can find various football (the English version!) merchandise along with some books.

The Tea Caddy – A small shop that sells items you would need for afternoon tea.

The Toy Soldier – Various kids items like medieval play sets, swords and shields, along with various books.

Is British invasion gone? Are there plans for something else? This has always been one of our family’s favorite thing to do–relax in the garden and listen to the music and watch everyone else enjoying it.
