American Adventure

Crossing into the American Adventure, you feel as if you have stepped back in time to Colonial America, and the feel of the area enhances that feeling.  The main building is designed to look like a mansion that one might have seen in places like Colonial Williamsburg or Philadelphia.  You will find many things in the pavilion that help reinforce the patriotic feeling and help highlight America’s history.

Attractions:

The American Adventure – Located inside what the Disney Imagineers call “America’s Mansion”, you will find this wonderfully patriotic Audio-animatronic show.  It lasts for just under 30 minutes and uses projection screens to enhance the story being told.  Narrated by Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain, this trip through America’s history involves other major important people during significantly important time periods.  Such time periods include the Boston Tea Party, signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Civil War, World War II and even up to the present.

Entertainment:

The Voices of Liberty – A group of incredibly talented a cappella singers preforms in the rotunda every day and shouldn’t be missed.  Performing a mix of patriotic and folk songs, are a highlight of the area.  They also perform in special events around Epcot throughout the year, such as the Candlelight Processional during the holidays.

Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps – This colonial era band of 4 performs daily outside in the pavilion.  Playing various patriotic songs while marching in formations add to the feel of the Colonial American era and patriotism.

America Gardens Theatre – Directly across from the American Adventure, seated on World Showcase Lagoon, this amphitheater hosts various events all throughout the year.  This area is also used for three major Disney events during the year:  The Flower Power Concert Series that takes place during Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival, the Eat to the Beat Concerts during the Food and Wine Festival, and the Candlelight Processional during the holidays.  Other groups preform here as well during the year, so check your guide map to see who may be performing!
