Why Everyone Needs to Visit California
Happy Monday Morning/Afternoon everyone! I feel the need to explain my recent absence from the site. You see, I have been in the middle of a cross-country move from Kansas to California. I got a new job! Yay! But getting to California took about 3 total trips, one for the interview, one for an apartment hunt, and one for the actual move. On my first trip out, I interviewed in the morning, and spend the afternoon at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.
Yes I realize we are a Epcot blog, but I wanted to tell you all about the museum, as it was an amazing experience for me. The museum is in a place called the Presidio, set up high in the hills overlooking the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. It cost me $20 to get in, but it was worth every penny. The museum starts with Walt’s childhood, and works all the way to his death. There are letters, photos, personal items, and even video segments throughout the museum that tell the story of Walt’s life, and the birth of the Disney enterprise. The museum is 2 levels, and ends with an enormous model of Disneyland. Once you are done with the exhibits, the gift shop is almost as good as Mouse Gear… Almost.
I don’t want to spoil all the fun of you exploring the museum for yourself, but I will tell you that I easily spent four hours there and didn’t see it all. So when you come out to California, stop by for a visit, and give me a call! I’m in the area now…
