I wanted to share a magical experience that I had at Disney World last summer. My boyfriend and I were visiting The World to camp at Fort Wilderness, but had decided not to get park tickets for the trip. I wanted to tour the resorts, and we were meeting with the Disney wedding planning staff while we were there. On the particular afternoon of this story, we had decided to head to the Boardwalk Inn to take some pictures and wander.

After a very scary ordeal in the lobby where I lost our only set of car keys, we were a little stressed, even though we had found them in the end. After exploring the interior, we headed outside to the actual boardwalk to visit the shops and take in the wonderful weather. It doesn’t take long to get thirsty in the hot Florida sun, so we headed into Seashore Sweets for a Diet Coke. We were the only ones in the establishment, and I saw Chas, my boyfriend, looking longingly at the ice cream in the case near the cash register. Sitting on top of the case was a container full of jelly beans with a sign saying, “Guess the correct amount of jelly beans in the jar and win a free ice cream cone!” Well, what was the worst that could happen?!? We might as well guess! With all three cast members interacting directly with us, we had the entire room’s attention as we both surveyed the the jar closely.

Chas went first, guessing 1684. The cast members all said lower…. I stood there for a few moments, trying to pick a number in my head. One of the cast members looked at me and said, “I’m going to send it to you telepathically.” I said ok, looked at her for a few seconds, and blurted out, “1458!” With a very surprised look on their faces, the three cast members all started cheering! I had got it right! Now, they could have all said, let’s just give it to this girl, but I still like to think that I really, truly did guess the correct number.

Either way, I got a free ice cream out of it. It sure did make my day!
