The Imagination! Pavilion, is another pavilion that has been around since Epcot opened in 1982 and was formerly sponsored by Kodak. Currently there are two attractions housed here as well as a small gift shop.
“Journey into Imagination with Figment!” has seen a few overhauls over the years, with its most current version opening in 2002 and the addictive song “One Little Spark” has returned to the attraction, along with Figment. (I know, there was a “Dark Time” where figment was totally removed from the show..this isnt the original, but its the best we’re going to get.. this does NOT mean this is not a good attraction)
The Imagination Institute is having an open house to show off their labs based on each of the five human senses and you are invited to tour each! During the tour Figment appears throughout to add a bit of chaos to the organization, and even at one point, flat out taking over the tour and putting his own spin on things which teaches everyone that if it wasn’t for Imagination, we would be without many things that we have today, especially our creativity.
“Captain EO” replaced the now defunct “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience” and is currently running 20 minute shows all day. This is a 3-D Special effects show featuring the late Michael Jackson and is a classic Epcot attraction that has made a rare return. The show originally ran from 1986 to 1994, however thanks in part to the musicians passing, Disney brought it back! While a bit dated, it’s still a fan favorite and is worth seeing, especially if this will be your first time! The music is quite loud and there are some moments that smaller kids may find a bit scary, however our 7 year old has loved it each time he’s seen it.
