I love bread pudding and this week I was looking for something sweet and easy to make and found the Bread Pudding from Cape May Cafe at The Beach Club!
4 cups Texas Toast
3 each Whole Egg
2 cups Whole Milk
½ cup Sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Golden Raisins
Cut bread into cubes and place into a 10-inch cake pan.
Combine eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until incorporated.
Pour mixture over bread and stir to coat. Let sit 5 – 10 minutes to allow bread to absorb liquid.
Bake at 350° for approximately 25 – 30 minutes in a water bath until a knife inserted, comes out clean.
This took a lot longer to bake than the recipe said. It was probably in a good 50 minutes and I increaded the temperature to 400 before a knife came out clean. It doesn’t say when to put in the raisins so I added them on top at the end and they got overcooked. So I recommend mixing them in with the liquids and pouring it over the bread.
Besdies that this was a great recipe! Its very easy to make and its really tasty! Its great for breakfast or warm with ice cream for dessert! And it makes a perfect amount! If you, like me, are a bread pudding fan, try this one out!
