Disney Officially Announces Test Track Overhaul

As we first announced back in October, Test Track is getting an overhaul, and Disney has finally announced the details!  Thanks to a renewal of the sponsorship from GM, the Test Track that we know today will transform into the new “Chevrolet Design Center”.

Currently scheduled to close in April for refurb, once the new Test Track opens, guests will be able to get much more hands on with the attraction, becoming an automotive designer!

When you visit the new Test Track, you will get the opportunity to create their own vehicles, as well as get a chance to test them in the newly revamped fleet of cars on the track!  Taking advantage of an interactive design process to create their custom cars is just part of the change, as well as “upbeat music, engaging media, dramatic lighting and a collection of Chevrolet concept cars and model vehicles.”

The post show is also changing a bit as it will now give a look at the future of transportation by showing guests various Chevrolet vehicles in a brand new show room!

So what do you think about the changes?  Are you going to try to get one more ride in on the current incarnation of Test Track?  Let us know in the comment section below!

Test Track is one of my absolute favorite attractions so I am very excited to see what they do with it! I’m sure we’ll see a lot of things that are coming to Radiator Springs Racers over at DCA, like the painting the cars scene…I like the idea to design your own car! This should be interesting!

I absolutely LOVE Test Track and YES we will try to ride before it closes. We are very, very disappointed to hear that it will be closed in April as our family is coming from Georgia to stay at Disney for 6 days and we were going to Epcot the first day! Is the ride portion going to remain as fun and fast as it is now??

I absolutely love Test Track. It has been one of my favorite attractions since it opened. I have to be fair though, GM’s World of Motion was a great attraction too. Can not wait until TT reopens. Hope its open in November!
