I am hoping that many of you read the post 2 weeks ago about the Spaceship Earth narration. It would be very interesting to hear other celebrities be the voice of one of our favorite attractions. As a true Epcot fan, this spurred a few other thoughts in me.

What if Putty wasn’t the flight attendant in Soarin’? What if Phil Knight didn’t pick the tests for our ride through Test Track? (You all know Phil Knight, right? Kath and Kim if you don’t get the reference) Some of these rides would be totally changed if the celebrities that bring them to us were different. I have put together a few examples for you so you can see what I mean.

Example 1: What if Ellen wasn’t playing Jeopardy in The Universe of Energy pavilion? What if she was playing Wheel of Fortune, or Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? Back in the hay day of WWTBAM, Regis and Ellen would have made quite a unique pair. How about scrapping Ellen for, oh I don’t know, Heidi Klum? Not only would a lot more men attend the attraction, but you would have to find a character for Seal too.

Example 2: Martin Short is a great Canadian, but there are so many Canadian actors to choose from. Let’s switch it up! How about Dan Akroyd? Ghostbusters themed Canadian pavilion! Ok ladies… Ryan Gosling! Canada would get very little attention, but the movie would be VERY popular. Or how about my personal favorite, everyone’s favorite sitcom dad, Alan Thicke. Dr. Seaver could chase Mike around the country… Hysterical.

Example 3: I have saved the best for last. Let’s exchange Dr. Nigel Channing at Journey into Imagination (I don’t think that guy is a famous celebrity in real life, but I’m not sure) for someone with a little more pizazz. How about Robin Williams? Hilarious, entertaining, and witty. Why not my personal favorite, Neal Patrick Harris, or Barney Stinson for that matter! The attraction would be legend- wait for it- dary.  So many options, so little time…

So what do you think? Who would you like to see take over the Universe of Energy, Soarin’, any of them? I want to hear your thoughts!
