Reconfiguring Future World
For a while now, I have been contemplating the demise of the current Future World. Don’t get me wrong. I love it and all that jazz, but it is boring right now! Test Track is down for who knows how long. (Let’s face it. An acapella group just isn’t going to be able to take it’s place for the time being.) Ellen’s Energy Adventure is still take like 2 hours to get through, and Captain EO is still playing in the Imagination Pavilion. Hello! Disney! Future World sucks! I’m not saying my ideas are better, but here’s what I think should happen:
Future World West: I love the Land Pavilion! Besides a removal or update to the Circle of Life movie, this pavilion can stay where it is and with what it has. The Seas with Nemo are ok too… Kinda boring, but kids like it, so it’s fine with me. But when you think of the land and the water, what is the next gradual step? The Sky, duh! The Imagination Pavilion will now become the Space Pavilion. With telescopes and a Planetarium, you will be able to see how the universe came into existence, learn about what scientist are currently studying, and explore the solar system in ways you never have before!
Future World East: With the Test Track renovation going on, I will leave it be for now. It may be really great when it gets done, so it can stay. Mission Space now becomes a showcase of technology! Everything from the latest in electronics to kitchens and other devices, this pavilion will introduce you to products of the future! The Universe of Energy can stay the Universe of Energy, but Ellen and Bill Nye are gone! Energy is very important to the world, so conservation, new technologies, and efficiency will be covered here. Lastly, the Wonders of Life Pavilion will re-open, introducing new technology in medicine, exercise and pharmaceuticals.
Spaceship Earth will remain as usual, introducing us to communication and the world around us….
So what do you think? Let me know what your thoughts are. What would you introduce or pull from Future World?
